Musk, trying to rein in costs amid a widespread freeze of advertiser spending on Twitter, fired half of the company’s approximately 7,500 employees one week after the deal closed. Unfortunately I don’t have many contacts at Twitter anymore so doubt I’ll get any kind of definitive answer soon.”Īs of December, Twitter’s headcount had dropped by nearly 75% since Musk took over. In a post on social service Mastadon, which has seen a surge in new users since Musk took over Twitter, Tapbots co-founder Paul Haddad wrote, “I’m hoping that whatever is going on at Twitter is just some automated spam protection bot that is incorrectly suspending proper apps, or something similar. “Sure is looking like Elon shut off all the third-party twitter apps,” tweeted screenwriter and author Gary Whitta. Some Twitter users speculated that Musk, who bought the company last fall in a $44 billion deal, is seeking to kill off third-party apps so that Twitter can better monetize activity on its own platforms. “We’re hoping this is just a temporary glitch and will let you know more as soon as we know more.” We’ve reached out to Twitter for more details, but haven’t heard back,” the company said in a tweet. “Tweetbot and other clients are experiencing problems logging in to Twitter. Tapbot’s Tweetbot account also reported issues. Please stay tuned and apologies.” The company noted that the macOS version of the Twitterrific app remains functional. “We don’t yet know what the root cause is, but we’re trying to find out. The rigid buckle for 2C is such that you can not use a booster with rigid lower anchor connectors in 2C as you can’t get the seat belt buckled when the rigid lower anchor connectors are used. All of the voices fit in great and never get annoying like some other remakes out there. Something completely new, that was not possible with the Sega Genesis hardware, is the inclusion of a Disney style narrator that guides the player through each part of the story, with Mickey himself even getting a one liners here and there. Music tracks are remixed songs from the original game and sound absolutely amazing, while every sound effect fits in perfectly with each world. The whole experience gets even better with the fantastic music and sound effects that accompany every second of gameplay. Each area you explore is a delight to play through, and even a little distracting as you will find yourself missing a jump or an enemy while staring at the amazing visuals. From the outstanding animation in the characters, to the amazingly detailed worlds Mickey visits, everything looks like a classic hand drawn Disney film. You can unlock items such as artwork, statues for the castle, and even new costumes for Mickey to wear. While some are easy to collect, others are difficult to even find, while others will take several attempts to grab. Since this remake has been made somewhat easier than the original, Sega has added a Time Attack mode so you can go back and find all of the hidden items scattered throughout the levels. Now, let’s touch on the ability to revisit previously beaten worlds. Losing here meant you lost a life, but in the remake this area is simply one of the aforementioned bonus areas, where you can find new hidden collectibles. A good example of this is the forest stage, where in the original, you had to cross an area high up in the trees, avoiding spiders and riding floating leaves. There isn’t a penalty for failing to get through them, as you will simply be returned to the main path. Players of the original will feel disoriented as the game changes from a 2D perspective to 3D in some areas, (particularly in the guardian battles) while some areas you remember from the original are now used as bonus areas inside each act. Each world consists of 3 acts, leading to a showdown with a gem guardian. Unlike the original, you can revisit any world once you beat it, but we will come back to that a bit later. Collecting silver diamonds scattered around the castle will open the first door and collecting more diamond as you make your way through the levels will help open more doors later on. While the original game is a straightforward action platformer, the remake puts you into a 3D castle with the rooms to the different worlds locked by magic. Reaching the world’s guardians and beating them is the only way Mickey can collect all 7 Gems and rescue Minnie before it’s too late. You will need all that you can find, since there is always something up ahead trying to hurt you. Mickey starts with only 3 hits, but you can collect up to 5 hits with the stars scattered around each world. The worlds he explores are filled with danger and traps that he must get through in order to reach one of Mizrabel’s guardians, and you have to jump on enemies, and even use throwing weapons like apples and baseballs. Once Mickey enters the castle, he enters the first room, only to find the rooms lead to different worlds. Once Mickey finds all the gems he can take on Mizrabel and free Minnie. Here, Mickey meets a wise old mouse who tells him the only way to save Minnie is to collect the 7 Rainbow Gems that are hidden away inside the castles rooms. Mickey springs into action, chasing Mizrabel right to the Castle of Illusion. Mizrabel’s plan is to curse Minnie Mouse and steal her beauty so that she would be young again. Mickey and Minnie Mouse are having a wonderful picnic when the evil witch Mizrabel appears and kidnaps Minnie. The story has not changed from the original Genesis game. Now, thanks to Sega finally starting to realize that classics need to make a comeback, Castle of Illusion returns with this fantastic, yet slightly changed, remake. This game featured awesome animation, fantastic sound, and gameplay that would challenge even the most skilled player (even today). Many players scoffed at it as it looked like it was to be aimed at small children (mostly because the main character was Mickey Mouse), but this was not the case. Many moons ago, there was a little known game for the Sega Genesis called Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse. Get in quick – this party tends to book out before November. If you want to rough it (as much as is possible in the middle of Sydney Harbour) the standard tents cost $400 and fit up to six happy campers. The deluxe New Year’s Eve Sydney staycation will cost up to $2200 for the fancier glamping packages. You can join guided tours exploring the Island’s convict and shipbuilding history, go day-to-night dancing to live music and DJs, or just soak up some sun and stellar Sydney views.ĭespite being canvas-based accommodation, it’s still a pretty ritzy start to 2020. The party will start in the morning, with plenty of entertainment on offer beyond the bright lights. You can start 2020 by getting back to basics at the BYO tent sites, or kick-off the year feeling fancy free at their deluxe glamping accommodation. Plan to spend at least two hours here.Want to watch Sydney’s New Year's Eve fireworks without crowds, traffic and long walks? Cockatoo Island offers an excellent vantage point to watch the colourful display light up the night sky, with accommodation included. If you wish, you can spend the night on the island in either in one of the houses or apartments or one of the “glamping” tents. Several buildings and exhibits on the grounds as well as two tunnels used to transport prisoners and goods from one end to the other end of the island were interesting. The boys were assigned throughout the island for a variety of jobs. Bordered by landscaped gardens, Cockatoo Islands holiday houses and apartments combine authentic heritage character with modern amenities and harbour views. Interestingly, there was a ship moored that was home to orphan boys. Situated near Biloela Lawn on the upper island, each boasts a large entertaining balcony overlooking Sydney Harbour. Convicts built prison barracks, grain storage silos and perhaps, most important, built the dock and maintained it for use by the British Navy and other ships such as battleships and submarines. Learning the history of how it came to be a “penal colony” was quite interesting. We took the self-guided audio tour to explore the island. Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the island was a convict jail, a reformatory and industrial school, and a shipbuilding yard. We took about two hours to do the circuit but you could probably take a longer time to get a more in-depth experience.Ī short ferry ride from Sydney, Australia’s Central Business District will take you to Cockatoo Island, the harbor’s largest island. We also went through tunnels, along walkways next to vertical cliffs and had views back to the Harbour Bridge. When we went in May they had a photographic exhibition called "Shipyard Stories" in Biloela House with official and candid photos of the shipyards. The size of these buildings is really imposing. Cockatoo Island resort is closed for business. Established in 1857 and closed in 1991, the over a hundred year old history has left docks, numerous incredibly large industrial buildings, old cranes and large working equipment. It then became an educational institution as the Biloela Industrial School for Girls and the Biloela Reformatory from 1871 to 1880.įor us the island's history as a shipbuilding centre was the most interesting. Situated in the picturesque Buccaneer Archipelago, the Kimberley Western Australia, this unique property caters for guests staying in historic villas or single room accommodation. Fitzroy Dock was carved by convicts and there is a guard house, mess hall, solitary confinement cells, grain silos and Biloela House. Cockatoo Island resort is closed for business. Sydney Harbour Woolwich, Sydney, Cockatoo Island, New South Wales 2000 Australia. This island is a UNESCO world heritage listed site because of its 30 years (1839-1869) as a convict penal precinct. There are tours and audio guides but we just took a map and explored by ourselves. Located in the heart of Sydney Harbour on the land of the Wallumedegal, Wangal, Cammeraygal and Gadigal Peoples, Cockatoo Island is a treasure trove of rich. They have a display of the tents they provide near the visitor centre (they did look fairly rudimentary) and we saw the movie and activity lists for the campsite. There is accommodation onsite in apartments, holiday houses and the camping ground. The visitor centre is only open 10 am to 4 pm but the ferries run much later (at least till 11 pm). When we took the ferry back from Cockatoo Island to Circular Quay it had one stop at Barangaroo Darling Harbour where we got off. There should be other ferries to Cockatoo Island from Woolwich Wharf, Birchgrove Wharf, Balmain Wharf and, of course, Circular Quay. On a Saturday afternoon, this ferry has one service hourly to Cockatoo Island and another service hourly to Circular Quay and these are about half an hour apart. It was spur of the moment with only a quick internet search. After walking along the north shore we took a ferry from Greenwich Point to Cockatoo Island. The psoas major originates from the transverse processes of the T12 to L5 vertebrae. These muscles work together to flex the hip joint as well as stabilize this joint during standing. The iliopsoas is made up of the psoas major and minor and the iliacus. Originating from the superior pubic ramus and inserting onto the pectineal line of the femur. The pectineus is a small square muscle that is found in the superomedial area of the thigh. The pectineus adducts, flexes, and assists in medial rotation of the thigh. Inferior to the inguinal ligament, the saphenous opening allows for the passage of the great saphenous vein. The aponeurosis of the tensor fasciae latae and gluteus maximus muscles also contribute to the IT tract. The iliotibial (IT) tract is a thickened portion of the fascia that is found on the lateral aspect of the thigh. The fascia lata is the deep fascia surrounding the thigh, and this fascia layer acts to limit the outward expansion of the thigh muscles. The posterior intermuscular septum separates the medial and posterior compartments. The medial intermuscular septum separates the anterior and medial compartments. The lateral intermuscular septum separates the anterior and posterior compartments. The intermuscular septae are extensions of the fascia lata and attach to the linea aspera of the femur. įascial compartments separate the thigh muscles to create the compartments outlined above. The medial or adductor compartment is composed of the adductors of the thigh. The posterior or flexor compartment is the prime extensor of the hip and knee flexors. The anterior or extensor compartment is responsible for flexion of the hip and extension of the knee. The three compartments of the femoral region each have a distinct function. These muscles arise from the ischial tuberosity and the femur and insert onto the medial tibia and lateral fibula. The posterior compartment is made up of a group of muscles called the hamstrings, including semitendinosus, semimembranosus, and biceps femoris. These muscles originate near the anteroinferior external surface of the bony pelvis and insert at the linea aspera. The medial compartment is made up of the adductor magnus, adductor longus, adductor brevis, gracilis, and obturator externus. These muscles arise from the hip, spine, and proximal femur. The anterior compartment includes the pectineus, iliopsoas, psoas minor, iliacus, sartorius, and quadriceps muscles. Each compartment is separated from the others by an intermuscular septum that runs from the fascia lata to the linea aspera of the femur. The muscles of the femoral region of the lower limb are divided into three compartments the anterior or extensor, medial or adductor, and posterior or flexor compartments. In the air, despite his aerial mobility being sluggish, his aerials are effective in their own rights his up, forward and back aerials all have impressive range and can be used as tether recoveries, along with the latter two having the unique ability to be angled. His Vampire Killer whip offers the overall second longest disjointed range out of any fighter in the roster, and it makes his overall kit well-rounded and versatile. Simon's other notable trait is his impressive range. Finally, his down special, Holy Water is a great projectile for ledge-trapping, combo setups or kill setups such as a forward smash, forward tilt, or Uppercut its flame effect also enables it to detonate Young Link and Toon Link's bombs as well as Link's Remote Bombs. His up special, Uppercut, is a very fast out of shield option with decent kill power that has multiple setups into it, such as the Cross, or more notably, down aerial. His side special, the Cross, functions like a boomerang, though unlike other boomerang projectiles, it does not follow Simon, instead going straight and then briefly going backwards on its own if not grabbed by Simon in addition to this, it sends opponents vertically in the air with low knockback, which is favorable for setups into aerial attacks, the Axe or an up smash. The axe can additionally lead into forward aerial, or, at higher percents, Uppercut for a KO. Firstly, Axe is a very strong projectile that can be thrown in three angles, which makes it effective at both edgeguarding and a threatening anti-air option, compounded by its ability to go through solid terrain. One of Simon's most notable traits are his notorious projectiles within his special moves. He also has the 5th lowest traction, tied with Bowser Jr. In turn, he is burdened with poor mobility, especially in the air, and shares his attributes with his descendant and Echo Fighter, Richter despite having the 8th-fastest falling and fast falling speed, he has below-average gravity, the 4th slowest walk speed, the 13th-slowest dash and air speed, and is tied with Snake for the lowest air acceleration in the game. Simon is a heavyweight fighter with a handful of effective projectiles and incredibly long disjointed attacks. Simon must then be defeated on Dracula's Castle (the Ω form is used in World of Light). Irrational Games had just created their own fork of the engine to use on SWAT 4, and they were pretty familiar with it…so they decided to keep going down that route for Bioshock, That’s not to say that it’s without visual quirks.īioshock ran on a modified Unreal Engine 2.5, in an era where every other developer was falling over themselves to use Unreal Engine 3. The closest to SWAT 4 is SWAT 3, which imo is better in a lot of ways to 4. One of the weirdest things about the original release of Bioshock is that it’s designed to operate at an FOV(field of view) of about 75 degrees, regardless of your screen’s aspect ratio. SWAT 4 is the next installment of the successful tactical first person shooter franchise. The field of view is the angle that your character can see from side to side in the world of the game. In its dogged pursuit of this thinner-than-average field of view, the widescreen version of the game is a 4:3 image that’s been cropped at the top and the bottom. SWAT 4 is the next installment of the successful tactical first person shooter franchise. There’s an option you can engage to widen the FOV in the original game…and this also causes more of your character’s arms to appear on screen. In the new remaster, they’ve widened the FOV by default, and gone with the wider view of your own arms. Even if you decide to shrink the FOV on PC…they keep the wider view of your own arms. Which is odd.Īside from that one weird quirk…everything in Bioshock 1 and 2 got a visual overhaul. Almost all of the textures are new and higher resolution. The character models and many of the environments are refined with higher polygon counts. In general, the basis for the shingles is asphalt, concrete, or metal. The material used in your shingles also has a big say in their looks and performance. However, their ratio is determined by your energy needs and roof size. Tesla solar shingles, for example, come with both active and inactive shingles. will depend on the ratio between active and inactive shingles. As most shingles can produce between 35 and 80 Watts a piece, you will need quite a few to cover your needs.īear in mind that the total cost of your installation and the average cost per foot sq. This means that you need to divide your total energy needs with the DC output of the shingle model you would like to purchase. Here, you need to understand that each shingle produces only a limited amount of energy. The number of roof shingles is also important. You may need an expert to help you with the calculations. In the latter case, the size of your solar system is also important, as it should be large enough to produce all the energy your family needs, especially in the upcoming years. In the former case, choosing shingles you think will work the best with your existing shingles is the most important factor. When it comes to the size of your shingles solar array, it can be observed that the size can relate to the size of individual shingles and the size of the total solar array. During this time, your shingles will produce energy that is enough to pay them off, especially as your energy costs will be almost nullified. This means that your shingles will generate electricity for the next two to three decades after the installation is done. The lifespan of solar shingles is around 25-30 years. The factors to consider when choosing solar shingles for your home include: All of these are important in determining what your roof will look like, which brand you will use, how much energy you will get, and lastly, what the cost will be. When choosing solar shingles, there are several factors you should consider. The newer generation of solar tiles can cover the entire roof and give it a uniform, sleek design that you will want to see, not hide away from. Made from conventional roofing materials, with an added solar cell in each tile, they are a great substitute for building-integrated photovoltaics – a solution many disliked. Proponents of the technology also say that roof shingles are more durable than traditional solar panels and that they give multipurpose to the otherwise useless surface: generating electricity and staying protected from the elements now go hand in hand.Īs yet another product on the solar market, solar tiles can help usher renewables into daily life and help mitigate climate change. The photovoltaic shingles can, therefore, completely substitute for your roof and look much better than standard solar panels added to the roof. Solar roof shingles are roof tiles with built-in solar cells. With a competitive price, sleek design, and unprecedented functionality, solar roof solutions are the best investment for those who do not want to compromise their roof looks and property aesthetics. Although solar shingles have been around for a while, their popularity only spiked when Elon Musk announced his own Tesla solar roof. Tesla said it will be installing equipment in the Buffalo factory over the next few months.Solar roof shingles are the best possible replacement for traditional solar panels. Panasonic makes the photovoltaic cells used in the solar tiles. But eventually all production will move to a joint Tesla and Panasonic Corp. is making the solar tiles at its Fremont, California, factory initially. But it’s the only sensible vision of the future,” Musk said. “It will be very difficult and it will take a long time, and there will be some stumbles along the way. He expects the initial ramp-up to be slow. Musk wouldn’t say how many orders the company expects to get this year. The cost can be rolled into the homeowner’s mortgage payments and paid for over time, the company said. Tesla said the typical homeowner can expect to pay $21.85 per square foot for a Tesla solar roof. Over that time period, Tesla estimates, the homeowner would save $8,500. The roof would be eligible for a $15,500 federal tax credit and would generate an estimated $62,100 in electricity over 30 years. That includes a $7,000 Tesla Powerwall, a battery unit that stores the energy from the solar panels and powers the home. It would cost $69,100 to install a solar roof with 40-percent solar tiles on a 2,600-square-foot roof in suburban Detroit, according to Tesla’s web site.
